“Here’s text I sent— Hey Reina, I was gonna wait til we left to tell you about our issues with your place and our stay here but I don’t see any reason to wait. There’s quite a few things we are unhappy with: the sleeping situation is probably the most horrible we’ve dealt with in a very long time. The pullout bed is a mess. It’s slanted downward at the head, Of course it’s a pullout so super uncomfortable but this one is old and clearly worn out. And there’s light coming in through the windows...

“The place is beautiful! We had us, our adult daughter, her boyfriend and our two younger kids. We could have fit more people if we needed to. The decor is cute, the place was clean, a short walk to the beach and some restaurants or if you got in the car the harbor area is just a 5 minute drive! If the opportunity presents itself, we will definitely stay her again!”

“This is my second time staying here and forgot about the shampoo/soap situation. Bring your own! We had a hard time getting the cable to work and actually just gave up and watched YouTube instead. The office opens up pretty late and the bikes could use some tuning up. It’s nice to have so much space compared to a hotel. This property is in a great location but could really use some extra maintenance and updates to get it up to 5 stars imo.”

“There was a good vibe and the backyard was really nice. The hot tub was used a couple of time. Great location to the beach and the grocery store. My son and I walked there to do some shopping. Note: the guitar on the wall was missing the 6th string, but my son was still able to play Jack Johnson song 😊”

Older charm by the ocean!

"The Pierpont Hotel is a charming place just by the ocean. A short walk 5 min, under the freeway, and you are on the beach. There is construction ongoing, and it is an older place, but the little cottage 102 was charming! Rose gardens, great parking by the cottage.Few steps to breakfast. Fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, bagels etc. Outdoor and indoor seats. (Could use a little update). Small pool, good for kids. 10 min walk to Ventura pier. Very nice staff checkin and out very efficient. Parking is usd 10,-, deposit usd 100,-. There is a big road just outside, and traffic noise, but was fine in the cottage. Coffee, fridge in room, nice tub and shower. Rustic but charming. Not fancy but cute. Great bed and pillows! I recommend the place for location. No restaurant on site except breakfast, but short drive to a few options. "

Close to the beach/main street and to loud trains

"The room was nice and the location was great, close to both beach and the main shopping street. However, it was also close to the Amtrak rail where the trains signaled loudly at all hours (albeit only every two hours or so since it is Amtrak). Breakfast was served on paper plates which suited us fine but didn’t exactly give off an air of luxury. Lovely staff though, helpful with directions and with giving me a bag when I wanted to carry the breakfast up to our room. "
