Stylish Tahoe Donner Retreat - Close to XC Skiing and Amenities

Welcome to The Viking Haus!

This quaint and well appointed cabin offers 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a wrap around sunny deck with quintessential Tahoe Donner views. Enter the home via a set of stairs to the second and third story living space above the 2 car garage. The great room and kitchen were recently remodeled, and are finished with engineered hard wood floors and a minimalist design. The layout of The Viking Haus follows:

Rounding out this Tahoe Donner cabin is a generous two car garage. The Viking Haus's location can't be beat! Located on the corner of Viking Way and Slalom, you'll be walking and biking distance to the best trails in the neighborhood. Just a 5 minute bike or 10 minute walk to The Alder Creek Adventure Center, enjoy the best summer activities this area has to offer. Enjoy world class mt. biking, hiking and horseback riding just minutes away.

Tahoe Donner Treasure is located in Tahoe Donner, the prime vacation rental community in Truckee. This property is 5 minutes to The Trout Creek Recreation Center-where guests can enjoy spas, a year-round pool, gym, fitness classes, and summer beach access for $24 per adult and $10 for ages 3-10. Six guests may use the facilities at a time.
Also 5 minutes away is the Golf center and range, "The Lodge" restaurant and pub and "Z Market Place"; which sells beer, wine, liquor, breakfast, lunch and dinner deli items, along with convenience items for mountain living. Several other recreation options are available just a few minutes' drive away, including a private beach and marina on Donner Lake (summer only), tennis courts and the Alder Creek Adventure Center; offering mt. biking, hiking and an equestrian center in the summer and cross country and skate ski areas in the winter. Tahoe Donner downhill ski resort is a perfect choice for families skiing with young ones or those new to the hill.
Truckee downtown is just 10 minutes away, offering a variety of shops and restaurants. Northstar, Sugarbowl, Squaw, Alpine Meadows and Boreal Mountain are all 15-20 minutes drive away, Donner Lake is a 10 minute drive and the north shore of Lake Tahoe is a 20 minute drive.

Clean and Modern Tahoe-Donner
This is a recently updated, modern home near the ski slope in the Tahoe-Donner community. The house was very clean, uncluttered and tastefully decorated. It had all of the necessary amenities (except shampoo and conditioner which was noted in the listing). We are a family of five with three teenagers and the house was large enough to give each member their own space. The living and dining areas were ample and the kitchen and patio grill had everything we needed to prepare meals. Appliances were top-notch. The garage was extremely clean and provided space to store gear but probably too small to park a vehicle given the location of structural posts. However, there is parking available for two to three vehicles in the driveway. Be aware that the driveway is uphill and could pose a challenge during the snow season (we were here during the summer). There is a dip where the driveway meets the road which may not allow clearance for low-riding cars. There is no cable or live television so you will need to AirPlay your device to the TV. Not a big deal. WiFi is fast at the home and I was able to connect and do work. No reception issues at the home for calls. There is no A/C, so the house gets up to 80 degrees on hot days (it was 85 degrees in Truckee during our visit). But, the ventilation in the house is great and cools down fast in the evenings. Overall, this home is great, family-friendly (including a pet) and we will definitely come back.
