Summary:
Nestled amongst the peaceful Cotswolds’ countryside is this spacious family home for up to 8 guests. You’re a stones throw from the medieval market town of Tewkesbury and under 20 minutes away to some of the region’s most renowned villages: Broadway and Chipping Campden to name a few.
The Space:
The garden and grounds are impressive, with ample space for all to spread out and relax. Enjoy alfresco meals under the sun, using produce from the local farm shop, or soak under the stars from the comfort of your hot tub. With the French doors flung open on a warm summer’s day, you’ll feel like you’ve just landed in the heart of rural France.
Inside, the large kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need: utensils, dual ovens, a gas hob, a dishwasher and a coffee machine to boot. Light the fires on a chilly night and settle in with a board game or a film on the smart TV. Upstairs, find light and bright bedrooms that are not only quiet, but also boast pretty views of the leafy garden. As well as three double bedrooms, there is a twin room and an additional sofa bed downstairs should you wish to use it. They share a family bathroom as well as a WC downstairs. With private parking for four vehicles, Mayville is the perfect spot for a country group getaway full of peace and tranquillity. Dogs are welcome at the property (max 2).
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the whole house and garden.
The Neighborhood:
A short drive from the bustling Cotswold villages of Broadway and Chipping Campden, where you can savour delicious local produce and spend days exploring the shops, this home is deep in the heart of the ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. One of only forty-six regions with this title, The Cotswolds is a very special place that boasts fantastic opportunities for walking, dining and visiting some of the prettiest villages in the UK.
The medieval market town of Tewkesbury is just a short 8 minute drive from the house. With a rich, vibrant history and a beautiful waterside setting, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy. Take in the wonderful scenery with a stroll beside the River Severn, or a boat trip along the Avon. Then head to Tewkesbury Abbey; an imposing feature of the town’s landscape for nearly 900 years. The town has a full calendar of events running throughout the year: celebrations and festivals including the world-famous Medieval Festival, popular Food & Drink Festival and Mop Fair. Every Wednesday and Saturday there is a general market, whilst on the second Saturday of every month, the streets come alive with the Farmers Market where you can pick up everything from award-winning local cheeses to handmade gifts.
Also in the surrounding area, you will find a brilliant local pub within walking distance. There are also an abundance of National Trust properties to discover, as well as Sudeley Castle, Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre and Sezincote House & Garden. Our property guide is full of more local favourites in the area.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of the Cotswolds, we would recommend bringing a car for your stay. There is private parking for 4 vehicles on the driveway.
Other Things to Note:
Dogs are welcome at the property (max 2) on the condition they are kept downstairs and off soft furnishings.
External security cameras are fitted for your own safety and that of the property.
Please let us know if you do not plan to use the hot tub during your stay. It has to be drained and refilled in between each stay, which is costly and not very environmentally friendly. So this is very wasteful if it has not been used!
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
