"The facilities were great, the free ice cream, the matcha latte. The staff are so attentive and kind, even with my rusty, broken Japanese they were very patient. And when I didn't understand they either used English or took out a translation app when their English couldn't quite bridge the gap. The onsen is large and the pools are so nice, as well as the sauna... Which had a TV (something which i never thought I'd see). Honestly though, I could do without a TV in my sauna. Sauna is for quiet."

"10/10. The staff was really nice and helpful, they had free massage chairs in the lobby, a free wonderful gender devided onsen, and one of the best breakfast buffes I've been to in Japan (and abroad overall). The room was spacious, clean and the tub big and definitely deep enough for a 175cm person. The beds were comfortable. The only downside was the thin walls - I did not hear any neightbors, but I did hear every person in the corridor and all the traffic outside. Especially the sound of the crosswalk beep was loud, and I haven't had those issues with hotels in Japan before. I was so exhausted at night though that the traffic didn't bother me. I liked the dimmable lights. It's also very close to Kyoto Station (and Aeon mall which has got a big supermarket). Overall very happy with my stay."
