“An unbelievable hotel in a declining area of downtown. San Diego like most California ities is on the decline. I grew up here and remember the days of Horton Plaza and the Gaslamp Quarter and its really declined unfortunately. The hotel is fabulous though. ”

“Great for single travellers! I have stayed here before, alone, and loved it. Close to everything in the city and easy to park. With a family, thoughy, the room was way too small. We were four people and could not open a single suitcase without putting it on the bed. Also, the bathroom door does not lock, or even close. Everyone hears everything. After a while you prefer a public restroom to the one in your hotel room. I would not recommend the Sofia Hotel for families or groups larger than 1...
