The Space:
Aroha Tiny House by Tiny Away is located near Takaka and Golden Bay, surrounded by lovely natives, pungas, Manuka, and ferns. It offers a peaceful environment for guests—built around a pan of quartz known for its relaxing and healing energy. Anatori River, Salisbury Falls, Wharariki Beach Holiday Park, and Abel Tasman Walk are just a few of the nearby attractions in the areas.
Explore our 139 square-feet cozy tiny homes overlooking paddocks with calves, sheep, and lambs. Meet our gentle husky, large but friendly. Small dogs may feel intimidated, but he's all about playful fun. He joins us around the property, eager to assist with chores. Enjoy a unique blend of nature and friendly animals in our magical retreat!
Just an hour's drive to nearby towns like Richmond and Nelson's attractions such as Kahurangi National Park, Nelson Lakes National Park, and more. The ideal Golden Bay accommodation with easy access to water, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities.
These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste-holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers) for you to use.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surroundings, including walks around the area, except for the shedding, which contains tools and machinery.
NOTICE TO ALL GUESTS:
Pets are welcome, but must be kept outside tiny homes in the evenings. Please ensure dogs are well-behaved around our livestock.

- Anatori River is a small river in Tasman District that is ideal for scenic drives and riverside campfires.
- Wharariki Beach is one of the most spectacular coastline and photographed beaches in the Nelson Tasman region.
- Farewell Spit is a bird sanctuary and wetland of international importance, with stricter protection than a national park.
- Salisbury Falls is a popular tourist destination that features swimming holes, bushwalking trails and is ideal for picnics.
- Patons Rock, Ligar Bay, Tata Beach, Pupu Springs, and the Abel Tasman walking track are just a few of the recommended attractions in New Zealand.
Getting Around:
By car:
- 1hr 40 mins, 79 km drive to Nelson city
- 6 mins, 5.6km drive to the nearest town Takaka
- 2 km from local Golden Bay airport since a lot of people from Wellington will fly into Golden Bay for the weekend. Our property is reachable by 2WD/4WD drive.
By public transport: We recommend guests to travel by private vehicle or v-hire to travel to our property and tour local attractions.

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- We have a friendly and well-socialised Husky who loves pats
- Please do not enter animal paddocks without the land host's permission
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge.

- We provide complimentary fishing trips or Paua diving experiences for guests; please contact your land host 24 hours before arrival
- We also provide our guests with fresh homegrown produce, local food and treats, and the best hungi experience (traditional method of underground cooking using steam from heated stones) in New Zealand
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property.
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
