“The house was beautiful and just what we needed. There wasn’t a hair dryer for my wife like it said there was, but that was the only mishap. There was a used coffee pod left in the other bowl of pods. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy. First night for over thirty minutes at 11:30 at night there was an old drunk guy screaming profanities up and down the street. Last night we had police presence right down the road and then heard five more with lights and sirens fly right by the house up the...

“Very clean and nice townhome that feels new. Quiet neighbours. Everything we needed in the house hold was provided by the host,. The only negative was the noise from the factory close to the river and the trains honking their horns from the same area, but i guess that us from the countryside is just not used to any sounds.”

“This home was beautifully decorated and well equipped for our 10-person stay. The beds were so comfortable and the coffee bar was a pleasant bonus. Small amenities like popcorn, sparkling waters and makeup wipes were icing on the cake. Check-in & check-out were simple, communication was clear. Would 10/10 stay here again when visiting out LU student! ”

“Lovely views and cozy, clean, cabin with great kitchen and lots of extras provided. Our grandchildren came over and enjoyed playing in the big yard and exploring the wooded areas behind the cabin. Love the history of this Family Cabin.”

“The weather wasn’t very good in the area, so that put a damper on a couple things, but that wasn’t a fault of the host. They made accommodations for us and that was appreciated. ”

“Great little house for the weekend. Laundry, 1.5 baths. Good beds. The house did not have electricity the first day on one section of the house (living room, light entrance). Second night, the electricity went off by the bathroom (we had to use it in complete darkness with our lantern) and kitchen. We had to find the panel and turn it on. After I used the laundry and the microwave, it went off again. If they fixed that issue, the house is perfect for a visit to the students at Liberty.”

“We made a quick trip to Lynchburg to celebrate my husband’s 40th bday. It was a great visit and we enjoyed our stay at the Giving House. ”

“The check in was easy and we had such a good time! It was 13 folks who all came together to pray. Although we didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit, it was well stocked! The cabin beds were so comfy and the walk to the restrooms was not long at all. Kitchens were both small but the owner had told us beforehand! The one in the house offered a bar that we all gathered around many times! Everyone liked the beds, which is hard to accomplish! Thank you so much for your awesome hospitality!!”

There were so many special touches that made us feel so very welcome! It was 20 min from Lynchburg and was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle. Everyone loved the house! ”

“nice place to stay. Communication not as good before, but became better and didn't hinder the stay. Would have been nice to have garbage cans in the bathroom, more listing of what is in the kitchen (it was more bare bones than I'm used to) and enough plate/cups for the number of people that you can host. Most things only had 4. But I would stay here again. It was a very comfy and enjoyable house.”

“The Empty Nest is a very nice house and it is well appointed. Somewhat of a remote location, so it is perfect if that is what you are looking for. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”

Nelson county has always been a favorite spot for us to go to, but most of the time we have made day trips.
