Motell i Okuhida Hot Spring Village

"The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes walk from Takayama station. It's a pretty small town, so all the main tourist sites are well within comfortable walking distance. The unique selling point of this hotel is the sento on the top floor. Taking a hot bath outside in the cold was outstanding. I love sentos so I went here every night I stayed in the hotel. The room was immaculately clean. For some reason it had a weird echo, perhaps some decorations on the wall would solve that. Zero noise from the outside at night. The bed was too hard for my tastes, it was quite uncomfortable. I don't know how many times I have written this in reviews for hotels in mainly Asia, but I can't understand how people invest millions in opening a hotel but skimp on the beds. Too many times I have slept (or tried to sleep) in a continental bed that is missing the top mattress. "
