“Toilet in our room seemed like it wasn’t bolted all the way to the floor. The entry way into the facility was a bit dirty but we enjoyed our stay.”

“My family and friends came up for the American Birkebeiner ski race. We were unable to get into our usual place so thought we would try this place. It’s a very clean hotel with comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We liked it so much we decided to stay again next year. ”

“The lodge is a wonderful place to get away to birch trees and smell off clean pine air. Our lake view was amazing. The leaves were just beginning to show the onset of fall with few hues of red and orange. We took many walks around the property enjoying the woods and lake. The resort was quiet but people hanging out at the beach or fisherman taking their boats early in the morning. The pool and spa were used a few times. It should open early. The kitchen and dining were stocked to meet our needs....

“Our group of 11 stayed at the Sun N Sno Lodge for the 2025 American Birkebeiner Ski Marathon. We were extremely pleased with the accommodations. There was plenty of space for our large group. We especially enjoyed preparing group meals in the large kitchen area and hanging out in the spacious living area. The house was very clean. The location provided convenient access to the southern portion of the Birkie Trail and to the town of Hayward. The host were very good to work with. In short,...

“Everything about this place was great! Cleanliness, the views out the window, the golf simulator, nice heated garage to park. We are already talking about going back next year! Highly recommended!”

“We recently stayed with a large group and there was plenty of space and options for sleeping arrangements. It also had nice fenced in yard which was perfect for dogs and also to get away from the Main Street! The hosts were very responsive and helpful too. My only complaint is that we didn’t have garbage bags upon arrival. And it is on the expensive side - with additional up charges for pets and early check in. ”

“We truly enjoyed our week in Hayward. The cottage was perfect for our family. The grandchildren enjoyed staying in the ‘loony bin’ room and having access to the basement game room. The property was perfect for everyone. Lots of fun was had on the deck and on the pontoon. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks and the paddleboard. Hope to be able to use these facilities again in the future. ”

“The property was beautiful and perfect for our leadership retreat. There were multiple spaces that we could do small breakout groups, the bonfire pit and fireplace were amazing gathering spaces. Overall, my team of 18 really enjoyed themselves! Also, plenty of space for everyone to have their own bed. ”

“Beautiful, spacious home and location. Upkeep of house could be better, and offer more resources to clean up during the stay (dish soap, cleaning wipes, etc). It would benefit from a deep clean, but we enjoyed our stay overall! ”
