What a great way to experience Ireland with our four generations of family from ages 1-91, all staying under one roof in Killaghy Castle. It suited us all with many bedrooms and baths, large living room and dining room and a very functional kitchen. The beautiful back garden and deck was the perfect place to unwind after our daytime excursions. Our host provided us with cribs and high chairs as well as some indoor and out door games for the kids, there was even a playground close by which we visited daily. Mullinahone was the perfect small town vibe as well, with TJ Macs the pub in walking distance, O'Briens the butcher and two local grocers. We also attended mass twice and felt like locals, getting coffees at the Brewhouse close by.
We did day trips to Portmarnock for Golf, Kilkenny for the Castle and Smithwicks, Cliffs of Moher by boat in Doolin, and Waterford for shopping. The best was coming back to the Killaghy Castle, relaxing out back at sunset, or snuggling into the living room with a warm fire to talk out all of our Irish adventures.
