“The gecko is definitely more updated than its nextdoor neighbor. Both were spotless. However both are in dire need of new loveseats, or at least do a serious deep cleaning of these. The bed was very comfortable, which is amazing considering how bad my back is! The location was perfect for us because our forever home is in lower Ocean View. But for tourist it would be the perfect half way point between Hilo & Kona. And Pinapple the cat is adorable!”

“What a delightful find for our family of 8! Lots of room for everyone to spread out and relax between the 2 yurts. Beds and furniture were comfy, the interior lighting (esp around the inside top edge of the yurt) gave a cozy feel, and everything was spic and span clean. “We were making a multi-day road trip around the Big Island and needed a place to stay after a couple of days in Volcanoes NP. We chose the Lava Bus because it was such a unique property. We were so happy we did! It is a bit of a drive to get to any services (around 20 minutes to gas/groceries) but it was an amazing location for seeing the stars at night and enjoying peace and quiet. It felt very remote, but at the same time the bus itself was so well-appointed that it felt somehow luxurious....

“I enjoyed my stay at this VRBO. It was very cozy and pleasant and in a good location. I enjoyed the fact that it was a ways out of the city but still close enough for a convenient drive to stores and restaurants. The host was very pleasant and helpful. “This lovely farm cottage was a perfect place to relax after exploring the incredibly diverse island of Hawaii. It is situated off the beaten track of Kona and the resort areas but conveniently enough to the Volcano National park, South Point, and Black Sand Beach. Couldn’t ask for nicer hosts.
