Our home is lakefront with private dock, (see photo), on a wide expanse of lake tucked into a treelined ridge overlooking Lake James. Enjoy an expansive shoreline with wide open views and a wonderful spot to swim. This home offers views of Dobson’s Knob and Table Rock. Natural landscaping surrounds this 6BR/4.5 BA Topsider Home. Expansive floor plan and 6 bedrooms makes it the perfect home for family/friend getaways. Guests will have access to the platform dock, the deck above the dock, and several kayaks, including paddles. Main level entry from parking area. 5 vehicle maximum allowance. Guest will have access to garage. The living room and kitchen are open to the dining area and living area, and all have floor to ceiling views to the lake/mountains outside. This area is very open and spacious due to the design of the home. A powder room, Master bedroom with Smart TV, and master bath with jetted whirlpool tub are located on the main level. The staircase leading to the upper level is open to the living area. The staircase leading to the lower level is enclosed.
The Upper Level has 2 additional bedrooms and 2 full baths. There is a landing that looks over the great room below.
The Lower Level has a family room with a 60” LG OLED Smart TV that is connected to router with an Ethernet cable, 3 bedrooms, a large full bath, and laundry area with new washer.
The WIFI plan is with Frontier and was just updated Spring 2023. Cable and satellite are not provided. Guests are welcome to use the Smart TVs to log into their own accounts. There is a table in the MB closet that can be used as a desk.
The main level has a wrap deck that looks over the ridge to the dock and water. Chairs for the deck are in the garage. The lot is very natural, so there are windows of views from the home. The lower level has a patio under the above deck with porch swings.
What we love about our home: The round design offers an open and airy flow to enjoy the views and interacting with family and friends. Our lot is mature and naturally wooded to offer privacy. Our community is gated and offers walking trails and lots of wildlife. You will feel like you are tucked away in a peaceful place, and yet you are only minutes from town.
The property has a series of stairs that lead to the dock. We suggest children should always be accompanied by an adult. We also recommend a well-planned list before walking down to the platform and dock. You will get your exercise on those stairs. See photos.
The garage is open to the guest. It also houses the gas grill, fire pit, and trash containers. These items should stay in the garage due to wildlife. Do not leave them sitting out unattended. Additional paddles or vest may be stored here if needed. The grill and the fire pit are only to be used on the driveway, not on the deck due to fire risk.
The home is set up for 12 guests and we provide linens, towels, kitchenware including kid’s flatware and cups, a drip coffee machine and a Keurig. Please send the manager an email if you need to know about specific items. We do not have any infant items, such as gates, cribs, or highchairs.
Marion is the closest town, about a 15-minute drive, and Morganton is about a 30-minute drive. Asheville is an hour away, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and Boone are also about an hour drive. The manager will send you area notes on groceries, restaurants, and travel.
We are in a private gated community and all owners and guests are expected to follow the rules below:
Boat trailers are not allowed to be parked in the driveways, if you bring a boat, you will need to secure off site parking. The manager can send you information on a location and costs.
1- No loud noise disturbances
2- No vehicles parked on the sides of the street or curbs
3- No fireworks
4- No groups that exceed the septic permit (12 in this case)
5- You must observe the no wake zones inside coves
6- You must observe the speed limits posted
