Mudge's Bluff is a serene waterfront property in Lubec, the easternmost town in the U.S. Close to downtown, West Quoddy Head State Park, and the Campobello Island bridge, this spacious home features comfy beds, a large kitchen, a front porch and a back patio. This spacious uncluttered home boasts comfy beds and furniture, a large, well-equipped kitchen with adjoining upper level deck, and the sizeable front porch/mudroom for your gear and outerwear. Guests especially appreciate the windowed walls, large tables that allow for getting together, and a lower level that gives kids a space of their own.
On the first floor, there is a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and 1.5 baths, along with a full kitchen, a kitchen table, a dining table, and a comfortable living room area overlooking the water.
Downstairs, there is another bedroom with a king-sized bed, a large living area with two twin beds and a futon that converts into a third bed, and a full bathroom. The back door on this level opens to a beautiful patio overlooking the water.
Guests have full access to Mudge’s Bluff, including the patio and side deck with water views. Adventurous guests can use the rope handle to access the beach below the property. Please note that the climb is steep and not recommended for children or those with physical limitations.
Check-in and check-out will be done via code, so there will be no physical interaction with guests. However, I am available before and during your stay to answer any questions about the property or the area. Please feel free to reach out!
Favorites in the area include nearby Quoddy Head Lighthouse and park, with well-maintained trails (easternmost point in the US), Hamilton Cove, Campobello Island's Roosevelt Campobello International Park/West Quoddy Light, (remember your passport), Cobscook Shore's Waterfront Parks' Pike Lands Cove and many more. Downeast wildlife abounds!
Watch for eagles, seals in the Narrows, and minke whales. Gulls, ducks, geese, an occasional heron, porcupine, or fox are often sighted right here at the Bluff.
Best of all, tho' is sitting in the cottage with cozy furniture, watching the tides, changing light and incredible sunsets!
