“The breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. Good enough location. Those are the positive things. But I got a room in a neighbour hotel, apparently owned by same owner. Third floor, no elevator. The floor was really askew. I had to use a pillow beside me so I wouldn’t fall from the bed! Literally! The staircase floors were not in line either. It didn’t feel really safe to be honest. It probably is safe, but it didn’t feel good!! Oh yes, there was supposed to be WiFi. Apparently it should’ve been...

“Massive thanks to the staff. Check in was between 2PM and 6.30 PM, which wasn’t convenient for me, so they gave me a security code to get in the front door, and left my door key in an envelope inside so I could arrive when I was ready. Also looked after my luggage while I was out for the afternoon. Owner is really helpful with guides as to where to go, and how to get there. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Hotel exceeded expectations of a budget hotel, quiet room, comfortable bed, en-suite room...

“Look, it’s a guesthouse not the Ritz! Room was small but perfectly functional and newly fitted out. Property itself slightly stuck in a time warp but really well managed and friendly. Excellent breakfast.”
