For those wanting a rustic type get away but want to stay plugged in to the world at large!! Located off ST RD 56 just a 7 minute drive to French Lick! Less than 2 miles to the Donald Ross Golf Course! Property has access to 55 wooded acreas with trails to hike. Terrain is rugged and can be challenging for some. . Call 812-639-4797 for questions regarding the cabin. Bathroom with step in shower. Kitchenette features apartment size refrigerator, microwave, 2 burner induction cook top, waffle maker and egg cooker. Coffee pot uses K cups (8 assorted provided per stay). Out door park style charcoal grill for the grill masters. There is a small pond on the property close to the highway. You can fish if you like. It was stocked with Hybrid bluegill & catfish recently which are growing at a slow rate as the pond is spring fed and very cool year round. There is however 1 large mouth bass who is likely to become a legend in many a fish story in the future. If you do catch him and have him mounted please let me know so I can replace him. You can also spend hours animal watching as this property has a wide variety of wildlife to be seen. Take a walk on the 1.5 miles of rugged trails on the property. Linens and a starter kit of 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper, soap/shampoo and disposable salt/pepper shakers are furnished. Cellular service is available inside the cabin when you enable wi-fi calling. Otherwise cellular service can be reached at the top of the hill behind the cabin. High speed fiber internet will allow you to stream videos, music, tv and movies on the Roku TV. You can work from the cabin if you like on your laptop or tablet.
Nicholson Valley, a rural grocery store, is 1 mile to the west providing quick and easy access to essentials, food, hunting, and/or fishing supplies. Downtown French Lick is a 7 minute drive to the east. Lots of area for parking boats or trailers. The nearest boat ramp is Lick Fork Marina which is a 15 minute drive across county roads.
Please note... There is a cave on the property with access strictly prohibited. Those with small children need to make certain they are aware they are not allowed to enter the cave as it is a small tight passage frequented by wild animals (bobcats) and is frequently flooded from rains far to the north. Also no ATVs or off road vehicles are allowed to be utilized on the property. This includes no biking on the trails.
