I have wanted to stay at the Gordon on each of my visits to Eugene, and finally had the chance. The hotel and restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful. The bartender at the bar, was not friendly. He was rude and really seemed to us that he was annoyed we were there and had to serve us. We were very happy to discover a secret bar at the hotel that had a very fun staff. I highly recommend you find the secret bar if you stay there.
On one of our nights, we had been asleep for about an hour and were woken up by what sounded like the people above us running back and forth across the floor and jumping up and down. There was so much force to it that it was causing the ceiling in our room to squeak. I called the front desk to tell them about it and was told that the noise was coming from the restaurant above us and that it would be closing soon. This only happened on one of the nights we were there, so I'm not sure what was happening in the restaurant that night.
I'm not sure if I would stay here again. If I did, I would ask not to stay in room 611 again, but I would stop in for the secret bar and I would also like to say that the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on.
