Disappointed to start off
Arrived at property to find it dirty, floors, table, bed sheets, bathrooms (one toilet still had pee in it), and very dusty under beds,( one had underwear under it). Furniture was a little beat up, 2 recliners were scary to sit in, had to tighten up some other furnture so it could be used. Was 3 fans upstairs, only one worked. Grass in back yard wasn't mowed, especially around fire pit. There was 3 propane bottles but only one had a little bit in it, messaged Jerry about it with no reply. There was 2 canoes with one pair of paddles, and remnants of 2 other boats on the property. Ad sounds like theres a beach, but its only a dock with a bunch of pallet rubble around it and no beach chairs as advertised. didnt see or need a printer and theres dvd's and no player. After the initial cleanup we did enjoy our stay but the property doesnt have everything the ad presents.

Just minutes outside of all of the amenities of Cranbrook this lake cabin was a dream. The swimming dock was a wonderful feature and although there was only 4 of us we couldn’t believe how many comfortable beds, linens, towels and comforts beyond what you would require in the kitchen and bathrooms were provided. A modern barbeque and plenty of seating is provided on the deck which we continuously enjoyed.

Beautiful lake front get away for our entire family
We had a great vacation with our entire family, 3 kids and both my parents and my husbands parents. All of us enjoyed a very relaxing week in this clean, bright & roomy cabin located on a quiet road that curves around the beautiful lake. There is a public beach a short walk away, which our children enjoyed for a swim. The house is well equipped; big kitchen with everything you need. Plenty of storage available everywhere. The dining room table was perfect for 4 adults and there was plenty of room for everyone in the living room. The living room has high ceilings and is very comfortable with a pull-out bed in the couch if needed. Plenty of windows and patio doors overlooking the lake - great view to watch the wildlife! We appreciated the real wood fireplaces in the evening when everyone was ready to wind down for bed. All bedrooms had plenty of room; the beds were very comfortable with two good size bathrooms. The layout of the house and the bedrooms gave us plenty of space if we needed quiet time too. The deck was a good size with plenty of seats; We used the BBQ several times during our stay. We enjoyed beautiful views of the lake from the upper deck and star-gazing at night. It was so relaxing to sit on the deck with a morning coffee, savoring the views of this serene lake, and then every evening we sat outside enjoying the sunsets. We saw many birds in the trees and deer wandering through the expansive backyard too. This is great deal for a six bed lake front cabin!

Disappointing at best
We approached this getaway with much anticipation as it was our 20th wedding anniversary. Such a disappointment! I spent the first 2 hours after arrival cleaning the areas that would be most important to have clean (kitchen/bathroom/ main sitting area). It wasn't worth it to me to clean the rest of the place. You cannot see the lake from anywhere in the house due to the untrimmed hedge of trees blocking the view. It went from being a wonderful getaway to being a place to sleep. It would have been substantially more economical and probably more relaxing and enjoyable to stay in a hotel. I'm sure the host is a nice enough fellow but he is being taken advantage of by whomever he pays to do his cleaning. If is was a just a bit dusty, forgivable.....having to live in previous renters FILTH (likely more than one), unforgivable. Shame because it could have been so nice.

Reconnect with Family
Our large family of 8 adults and 6 children truly enjoyed our wonderful family reunion at the lake. We love the new path to the lake because it is perfect for our elderly grand parents and our young children. There is seating for all of us to eat at one time too enjoy telling stories. The lake house and the lake front property are exactly as described and we recommend this property for family reunions. Two of our children caught their first fish right off the dock here and they are still talking about it. We loved it here and we plan on coming back next year.

Perfect for our Family!
The cabin was perfect for our family trip to reconnect together in the mountains. The cabin was clean and had everything that we need just as we read on the listing. We especially enjoyed our walks around the lake. The owner was responsive and he answered all of our questions immediately and was very thoughtful. Our children loved sleeping in the cozy bunk bed. We recommend the cabin to our friends and family. We will be back again soon!

Disappointing to say the least
This property lacks basic comfort and security. The majority of the windows don’t function, one wasn’t attached. The door handles are broken, the furniture, save one couch was ripped, broken and outside moldy and threadbare. The dishes and pots were dirty was was the BBQ. There was garbage, glass and cigarette butts strewn around the yard. The canoes were broken and unsafe, with broken paddles floating inside. The bathroom was dirty, the shower curtain in tatters and the face cloths and towels were falling apart. While the location is beautiful however everything else was truly disappointing. There were warnings posted on tape and scribbled notes about broken the dishwasher, that beeped constantly and to not fill the garbage can as there is only 1 cleaner. We were absolutely embarrassed to welcome our family to the property while in town for our daughters wedding. This is by far the worst experience of renting we’ve had over dozens of trips in last twenty years.

property is run down. needs repairs dishwasher broken. dryer not working properly. fridge will break soon. not sure if sheets were washed so we washed them ourselves day we got there. also washed windows downstairs. too dirty. no propane for bbq. had a great time with kids and grandkids though

Great location, Definitely great for a family gathering - Rustic, charming lake cabin, nice bedrooms/bathrooms setup but VRBO description/listing is a bit outdated Not all amenities are still available Living room furnitures needs upgrade, upkeep on the infrastructure have been neglected but considering that the place is up for sale, the owner for this rental property may not want to put any money in

Filthy House. Feel Scammed
Jerry is unfortunately the worst host I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. His House was very DIRTY. The sheets in all 5 bedroom were filthy with hair/crumbs/dirt. We had to clean all counter /table surfaces and floor before we unpacked. The host/owner lives out of country and was not communicating with us in any helpful way. He threatened me to not leave a review and then he would refund us 50%. The refund never happened. It’s a shame. the lake is pretty. I feel scammed. And the filthy property inside and out ruined our weekend

Family getaway
This was our second summer at the lake house. The location of the property is ideal. Being right on the lake is perfect for kids. The property could use a little tlc, but for the price and location it’s a great value. Would come back again.

Don't stay here!
Worst VRBO experience yet. Day of arrival the septic flooded the basement with noticeable stains and an awful stench. House is for sale and a relator showed the property after we checked in and while we were there! The refrigerator and dishwasher were inoperable. The beds and furniture seemed to be out of a free second-hand store: super uncomfortable, squeaky, magazines stabilizing the table, recliners stained and broken. We requested alternate accommodations from VRBO and after being disconnected with them 3 times, they never called us back after agreeing to give us different accommodations. Worst part of our weekend.

This property was not as presented in the online photos. Obviously, the photos were taken long ago and were not current. Inside was very much like the photos presented online. The outside was run down, the deck and stairs need repair, and the grass was cut weeds. The path to the lake was overgrown. The yard had a broken canoe and a bit of junk laying around the backyard. The alarm for the septic tank went off the second day and the lower level flooded in the middle of the night. Although the flooding was cleaned up and repaired, the stay was not as enjoyable as was wanted. Even wiping up the floor from a spill indicated the floors haven't been mopped or cleaned in a while. Some dishes were chipped. Overall, this place is misrepresented by the photos. I wouldn't recommend staying here. The owner has yet to return emails or contact when trying to reach them.

Don’t expect it to be clean
This place really needs to be cleaned. Very unimpressive to find animal hair in the beds and all over the floors. There’s mice in the house. Clean it up better before the next time please. I probably won’t book again

Loved spending time with my family at the lake
We spent 3 nights at the cabin and it was perfect. We brought our snowmobile and also went skiing to Kimberley, the kids especially loved playing hockey out on the lake ice. Everything you can dream of that you might require (and more) was there. They have thought of it all. From the beginning when we booked the property to the expedient way we received our access information and everything in between. It all worked and worked well. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms stocked with all you need. The property is fantastic. Quiet, clean, modern, rustic, fully stocked and all working. Beautiful kitchen with all the necessary cutlery. Wifi was strong when we wanted to reconnect with the world. Plenty of wood available for the cozy fireplaces in the upstairs and downstairs large living rooms. Can't say enough and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you!!

Disappointed
Based on past reviews this property is still not in the best shape regarding cleanliness. There were mice droppings and ants invading the kitchen, dust bunnies everywhere and the bedding did not smell fresh. Great location but it sounds like the property is not getting cleaned regularly or being looked after. Disappointing!

Christmas Getaway
We enjoyed this lovely lakeside property in the winter and the scenery did not disappoint. It was so nice to wake up with a cup of coffee and just admire the snow covered lake, trees and mountains. It was amazing to also walk on the lake and watching people skate, ice fish and playing hockey etc... Very spacious house, kitchen well stocked, bedrooms were good. Wonderful to have 2 fireplaces, one of my favourite things to do at night. The place its self could use a little bit of TCL and unfortunately we were not able to connect to the internet during our stay.

Nice cabin but filthy with mice
I don’t even know where to start. The place was filthy! And there is a MAJOR mouse issue. I say major because there were mouse droppings everywhere! We found mouse droppings on some of the beds, in the couches (they were pull out couches), ON THE COUNTERS, INSIDE THE COFFEE MAKER, and on some window sills. We even saw a couple mice and even went so far as to buy mouse traps. One of the mice was in the basement and ran into one of the rooms and we tried to trap it, but couldn’t. The next time we saw one was in the kitchen, behind the knobs of the oven! (I have pictures of the mouse droppings around the house and a video of the mouse running around the counter but can’t post unfortunately). I’ve read this in other reviews saying that there is no cleaner, and I too believe this. We spent the afternoon when we arrived at the cabin cleaning (bathrooms, laundry, washing the dishes, mopping, vacuuming, etc.). When the issues were brought up with Jerry we were told a cleaner would be sent the next morning, and no one ever showed up and as other issues arose there was no answer from his end. The cabin was well stocked (kitchenware, toiletries, towels, bedding) and has a lovely alpine decor, it’s just unfortunate that the place it not well cleaned. It was also nice to be there as a family (16 of us and 2 babies) and able to stay all together.

Great for what we needed
Stayed here for 3 weeks with my family and 2 dogs, Jerry was very pleasant to deal with. The house could use a really deep clean but otherwise it worked great for us. I loved having the lake so close and the neighborhood being so quiet. Would stay again.

Wonderful family time!
The cabin is exactly as advertised and more. Full kitchen for cooking real meals. All the appliances and dishware were clean and available. Netflix was provided and the WiFi worked throughout the cabin. Everyone enjoyed the wood burning fireplace in the evening (wood is included). Very warm and cozy. The public beach area across the lake was perfect for tobogganing because there is a little hill for kids. The kids also loved skating and practicing hockey near the cabin where plenty of ice was cleared. It was a wonderful weekend and the kids begged us to stay longer. We will be booking again soon.

Overall Experience was just Ok wouldn’t stay again.
Kitchen was dirty, fridge looked like it need a good clean. There is a mouse problem. Bedrooms had dust bunnies and garbage under them. One friend slipped on the stairs while leaving due to no lighting on the upper deck exterior stairwell. Baseboard heaters in living room didn’t work. Probably a nice place to stay if it was taken care of better.
