This contemporary, 1st-floor apartment is on the edge of a village just 4 minutes from the charming town of Cerknica. The apartment is in a modern chalet and is under the eaves, giving it charming, angled ceilings and skylights in some rooms. It sleeps up to 5 people and makes the perfect base for a family or friends who want to explore the unspoiled countryside of southwestern Slovenia.
With wooden floors throughout the decor is modern, with touches of traditional furniture. The entrance hall leads into the open-plan living area which includes a sofa, two armchairs and a large flat-screen TV. Sliding glass doors open onto a private balcony. This is furnished with a café-style table and chairs. Here guests can sit with a cup of coffee or glass of wine, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Back inside, there is a dining table and chairs next to the attractive open kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and kettle.

Bedroom 1: The charming master bedroom is furnished with a double bed plus a traditionally painted wardrobe and chest.
Bedroom 2: The second bedroom has a painted double bed and a wardrobe.
Extra: The sofa in the living area converts into a comfortable single bed.

Location
Just 40 minutes from the charming Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, the chalet is in the unspoilt Cerknica region. The area is ideal for cycling, there are many mountain bike routes and hiking, with various trails which allow visitors to get out into nature.
Not to be missed is the wild Lake Cerknica (12 minutes). In winter the lake can grow to as much as 40km2 and in the dry season, it shrinks to almost nothing. The area is known as the Notranjski Park and is home to bears, lynx and wolves. It is a very popular bird-watching spot. Also the Krizna Jama cave complex (12 minutes) with its 22 underground lakes connected by waterways. Visitors explore the caves in kayaks, a magical experience. There is so much to see in do on your doorstep.
Ljubljana makes a fascinating day trip. It is a small city packed with history. A tour of its medieval castle is not to be missed. Neither is a visit to the Central Market where you can find fresh local produce and regional delicacies.
Ljubljana’s international airport is a 50 minute drive.
