We were there with our three kids (ages 3-9) and felt safe in the area. The location was fantastic and the kids loved having the beach so close. They were also particularly fond of the chickens that would sometimes venture over from next door. Elizabeth was super responsive and the offer to arrange for transport to/from the airport...
