“We spent a lovely four nights here. The condo was on an upper floor, with plenty of parking at the side of the building. We used supermarkets in Durango (5-10 min drive away) for groceries. It was easy to drive into Durango and take the train to Bilbao for the day too. The kitchen had the basic things you might need (small oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, washer, dishwasher, but no kettle?) and the shower was pleasingly powerful. The air con was very welcome in the sticky July...

“Arrivée compliquée pour avoir les clés, malgré l'envoi d'un mail la veille, malentendu sur le garage que nous pensions compris dans la location et qu'il a fallu payer en plus, et qui était situé à un kilomètre de l'appartement et non sous le logement. Appartement sous équipé en vaisselle pour 4 personnes, et propreté douteuse; les propriétaires étaient trés sympathique malgré la barrière de la langue”

The apartment is clean, neat, and has a good-sized balcony with a table for eating. Gernika is equipped with a train station, many restaurants, grocery stores, shops, a couple museums, and is even a short drive to beaches and the seaside town of Lekeitio, making it the perfect alternative to staying in Bilbao.
